How to reach the Kentucky Derby Horse Betting editorial team by email, what to include in a correction request, and which questions we cannot answer for you.

The quickest way to reach us is email: [email protected]. A real person on the editorial team reads every message, and we aim to reply within a few working days. Around the first Saturday in May, when Derby traffic peaks, answers can take a little longer.

Good reasons to write

  • Corrections. A wrong winner, a misquoted distance, an outdated rule on state betting law or a broken source link.
  • Suggestions. Topics about the Derby, the prep races or pari-mutuel wagering that you would like explained.
  • Privacy requests. Questions about data covered by our privacy policy.
  • Press and permissions. Requests to quote or reference our pages.

Sending a correction

Please name the page, quote the sentence you think is wrong and, where possible, link a primary source such as Equibase, KentuckyDerby.com, Churchill Downs or a state racing commission. Corrections backed by a primary source are checked first. When we change a page because of a reader report, the fix goes live without fuss, and we do not publish your name unless you ask us to.

What we cannot help with

This site does not take wagers, hold accounts or settle bets. If a deposit, payout or ticket dispute involves a wagering service, contact that company’s customer support first. Licensed advance deposit wagering companies and racetracks answer to the racing regulator in the state that licensed them, and that regulator is the right place to escalate an unresolved complaint.

We also cannot give personal betting picks, tell you which horse will win or confirm whether a particular service is legal for you. Our guide to legal Kentucky Derby betting explains how state rules work, and the bet types page covers the wagers themselves.

Need support with gambling?

If betting has stopped being fun, you do not need to email us first. Call or text 1-800-MY-RESET for free, confidential help in the US, at any hour. More resources are on our responsible gambling page, and you can learn more about the site on the About page.
